Kenya has been known for its hardworking and talented individuals since time existence. Various political regimes have come in place since independent offering the best for its citizens. Some have been successful while others have failed tremendously.
2022 political elections came with almost everyone creating the best manifestos that would benefit the people of Kenya at large. H.E Dr William Samoei Ruto offered almost the best , giving a keen look at the economy, the people, education and infrastructure. He was duely elected as the president and many thought he was the saviour of the Kenyan people.
Sadly enough just after getting into office various aspects of the economy and industry felt the weight bestowed to them, and currently even the people are facing the toughest of economies since independence. Billions of shillings accumulated monthly end up nowhere and the return are empty promises with clear lines at their every speech.
Currently loss of jobs has been experienced while at the same time high rates of basic needs like food, water, electricity and fuel. Recently the government has impacted to forcefully take 3% of everyone's salary saying they want to build houses for everyone. This has been criticized due to their lack of democratic rights assigned to Kenyan citizens to choose what they want. The government is forcefully taking into action without the consent of the people, hence neglecting democratic rights. Remember we all chose the democratic system of government( The government of the people for the people) and it's every Kenyans right to choose what they want with their governments and moreso their intimate salaries.
The government has refused to take loans of which it's a good decision but the major question is 'where are taxes collected going to?' and 'if we are really into big debts as claimed why don't we maximize on exportation of our local products?' also some are saying 'what is the need for all those leaders if we are in need of cash, the new leaders and CAS are not even working, what's the use of them?'
The most important and influential aspect of economy has been neglected. The youths have no jobs. Everyone is crying and wishing this never came to pass. Recently various graduates have committed suicide due to trauma and depression caused by the government. It is not clear what the real motive of the government is and it's so saddening to feel betrayed by the one you trust the most.
Looking at the future we are doomed. I will highlight various angles that make me and Kenyans feel this way.
1. Education system.
The education system currently is so stupidly the worst of all, all over the world people are fighting to be the most technologically advanced and grasp more knowledge as fast and as cheap as possible. CBC is the worst for poor country like Kenya. We are not advanced in technology, medicine, infrastructure, industries and even the most basic which is learning. We need to work and learn fast and that means it's not CBC.
The government says it won't sponsor private universities students. Now the question is how many universities are government's? And do they offer competence globally? And can all those government universities accommodate the poor Kenyans who don't have enough to pay for the fees that are rated at over 200,000 per academic year and that is for courses like bachelor of arts in education.
2.Jobs
We have over 20 million youths who are graduates with no jobs. Now instead of the government venturing into industries and put these youths in place to work it's actually adding up CAS and cabinets that dont function. Many factories and industries owned by the government were shutdown many years ago and the cost to reviving them is not even close to 100 million per factory or industry.
Funny enough the government is prioritizing that youths go for mjengo. It's ok but how does medical graduates,ICT graduates, Law graduates and other theoritical graduates do these jobs. It would be atleast fair if the government created a sacco for construction workers and graduates that venture into construction and project management. Let's say all those graduates are put for the government construction jobs.
Now looking at the other fields that youths have studied it would be proper to create jobs for them like courts for law students, we need many courts to reduce the amount of cases waiting hearing.
We also have the medicine and chemistry students, we could venture into labs for creating medicines right here in Kenya instead of importing even something like pain relievers.
ICT industries, labs and co-operations need to be created to facilitate the need for technology here in Kenya. Agriculture and biotechnology need also to be invested alot.
That was just to name a few, but many industries and jobs can be created here in Kenya with as little as 100 million per industry. We should look where we are heading.
The country is failing in the present and the future also, only God can redeem us now, and I don't mean the leaders of faith.
